Some thoughts about the remix project "CINEMA" of Jill Cohn where I had the honor being involved ...

I think it was in early 2012 when I met the music of Jill Cohn for the first time; I worked with Stephen Sherrard on our first album and we were looking for some remixes – as additional tracks for it; although her style of writing songs is completely different to my electronic stuff, I was fascinated by her songs. Her lovely voice in combination with gentle guitar and piano elements – simply wonderful. And whenever I like a track it´s my wish to try a remix of it, or – maybe that´s the better way of an explanation – I want to rework the original by using electronic sounds and effects to enhance the beauty in it, to show the meaning of the track in a different way.

When Jill asked me to remix some of her tracks for this CINEMA project, a dream came true for me. It happens not very often that you meet people who are open enough for a remix project, which means that their tracks will be changed – sometimes “dramatically” – into something new, but Jill gave me this chance to “play” with her tracks and especially with her remarkable voice.

So at the end of this story and thanks to the fantastic mixing job of Stephen Sherrard, you can listen to some of my best remixes so far. I hope you enjoy Jill´s CD as much as I enjoyed making these versions.

Dear Jill! Thank you so much for giving me this fantastic opportunity – I´m feeling honored to be part of this project
